Neil Alden Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on August 5th, 1930. Among his achievements, Neil would serve as a Navy pilot during the Korean war, a pilot in the X-15 rocket plane program, the Gemini 8 mission (completing the first manual space-docking manoeuvre) and the Apollo 11 mission where he became the first man to walk on the Moon.
