On September 25, 2005 at the Brazillian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonzo clinched the Formula 1 championship by finishing third in his Renault. Alonzo is the youngest person to ever win the championship at 24 years and 58 days of age.
He is also the first Spaniard to ever win a Formula 1 championship.
