The Most Tour de France Wins
On July 24, 2005 Lance Armstrong wrapped up his competitive cycling career with his seventh vitory in the Tour de France; more than any other person. Following the race Armstrong retired, at the age of 33.
Armstrong dominated the race, leading by around a minute after the third stage. At the finish he beat Ivan Basso of Italy by 4 minutes and 40 seconds.
He is the only person to have won more than five Tour victories and won all seven of his victories consecutively.
