First Non-Scandinavia Driver To Win The Swedish Rally
For the first time in the fifty year history of the Swedish Rally a driver from outside Scandinavia won the rally when Sébasitan Loeb of France won on Febrary 8, 2004. He finished in front of Marcus Grönholm, Petter Solberg and Janne Tuohino; all Scandinavian. Loeb won easily, with a 46.4 second margin in his Citroen Xsara and, along with his Monte Carlo rally win, gives him a seven point lead over Grönholm in the World Rally Championship.
