Iraqi Dictator, Saddam Hussein Finally Captured

Nine months after the first shots of the Iraqi conflict were fired, U.S. soldiers captured Saddam Hussein in a raid on December 13, 2003. Hussein was caught without a shot being fired near a compound of ramshackle buildings outside his ancestral hometown of Tikrit. He was found in a ventilated "spider hole" six to eight feet underground, its entrance camouflaged with bricks and dirt.

He will be tried in Iraq for his numerous crimes while he was Iraq's ruthless and unopposed leader.
