The Final Scheduled Concorde Flight
The last scheduled flight of the supersonic Aerospatiale / Bae Concorde SST took place on October 24, 2003. A British Airways flight from New York to London landed just past 4:00 pm at London's Heathrow airport ending over 27 years of trans-Atlantic supersonic service.
The tragic crash of an Air France Concorde in July 2000 and high costs ($11,000 per seat) lead to the demise of the supersonic service.
