The Youngest Driver And First Spaniard To Win A Formula 1 GP
On a hot Sunday, August 24, 2003 Fernando Alonso became the first Spaniard to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix at the 2003 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Only four weeks past his 22nd birthday, he also becomes the youngest driver to win, beating a record held by Bruce McLaren.
Starting from the pole in his Renault, he ran the race almost unchallenged and earned Renaults first win since Alan Prost won the Austrian Grand Prix in 1983.
