LTV Corporation Files For Chapter 11 Reorganization

The third largest steel producer in the United States filed for chapter 11 protection on December 29, 2000 after loosing more than $900 million in 2000. The company blamed a weakening economy and unfairly priced import steel with driving the cost of steel to a 20-year low. After a year LTV Steel shit down and the remainder of LTV's assets were slowly sold off.
